This will take approximately one hour. You will then be required to return for Phase 2 of the study, an additional hour, in which you will be given text to read, complete an interest questionnaire and a short-answer post test on the reading and/or a short survey. Cognitive Load and Depth of Processing of Critical Thinking Strategies (Nussbaum/Shehab)In this online study, conducted through WebCampus, you read various arguments, write several paragraphs, and complete surveys on thinking patterns. Participants must have previous experience taking exams in WebCampus. The study will be available during each of five one-week periods (Monday morning through Sunday evening). You sign up for the study and then email the researcher with your name and WebCampus login to complete your enrollment. The researcher will inform you about the week in which your participation can occur. During that one-week period, you then go to the link provided and, within one hour, complete the study. Studies For Students in EPY 702 OnlyConceptions of Water Usage in the Las Vegas Valley(Nussbaum/Owens)
The purpose of this study is to assess participants' concepts of regional water usage. The study consists of a 60-minute audio-recorded interview in which you will be asked questions regarding your understanding of water usage. The purpose of this on-line study is examine moral reasoning of students at UNLV. If you participate in this study, you will be asked to do the following activities on-line: complete a biographical sheet (information about yourself); complete a 28-item questionnaire to find out about your beliefs about knowledge; complete a 36-item questionnaire aimed at understanding how people think about social problems; read two chapters from a book on how people make decisions, and answer 10 multiple choice questions and four open-ended questions.
