Eunsook Hong is professor of the Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). She received her undergraduate degree in Korea and had been elementary school teacher for about 9 years. She received her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology and Technology from the University of Southern California in 1990. Her areas of research interest include identification and instructional application of mental models, problem solving, giftedness and creativity in children and adolescents, homework, and psychometric issues. She teaches mainly the following course in the department of Educational Pscyhology: Multiple Regression (EPY 732), Multivariate Statistics (EPY 733), Latent Variable Models: Factor Analyses and SEM (EPY 734).
Dr. Hong has authored numerous publications in various journals, including Applied Cognitive Psychology, Contemporary Educational Psychology, Creativity Research Journal, Gifted Child Quarterly, International Journal of Psychology, Journal of Educational Psychology, and Journal of Educational Research. Several chapters on giftedness or self-regulation in math and a book on Homework: Motivation and Learning Preferences are published or in press. She has been serving as an editorial board member for six journals in education and giftedness.
