Dr. Lisa D. Bendixen is an Associate Professor in the Department of Educational Psychology. She received her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1998. She joined the UNLV faculty in 1999. Her research interests involve the personal epistemology (i.e., beliefs about knowledge and knowing) of students and teachers and how these beliefs influence learning, teaching, and the use of technology. Currently, she is focusing on the personal epistemology of children and its measurement.
Dr. Bendixen is an active member of AERA and APA. She is currently president-elect of the Southwest Consortium for Innovative Psychology in Education (SCIPIE), serves on the editorial board of Contemporary Educational Psychology, and is the editor of the APA Division 15 :Educational Psychology Newsletter
