Maggie, taking a well-earned break from outside educational and professional responsibilities, is enjoying some time as a stay-home-mom with the the challenges of balancing fun-in-the-sun with the application of her educational psychology knowledge to the nurturing of Elijah (4 and a half) and Ema (3 and a half), who have been anxiously but patiently awaiting the completion of her "big book," aka dissertation. She and husband John, also one of our doctoral students, are expecting their third child, a baby boy, with a due date of December 15th.
Maggie is currently preparing a manuscript based on her dissertation to be submitted to the Journal of Contemporary Educational Psychology, with the title "Helping Low Self-regulators Learn by Thinking in a Minimally Guided Computerized Learning Environment Using the Collaborative Misconception Mapping Strategy".
Her short-term professional plans include teaching part-time, consulting and producing further manuscripts. Her long-term plans include a research position with a non-profit environmental organization and/or a faculty position.
Congratulations and best wishes to Maggie for continued success.
