The mission of academic advising is to assist students by collaborating with them in identifying and pursuing their educational goals, providing accurate and timely information, and promoting student responsibility and accountability for their academic success.

|Ed Ronca, Director
Ed moved to Las Vegas in August 2002 from Burnt Hills, NY where he taught and coached for 33 years. Ed received his Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from SUNY Brockport and his Master's Degree from University Albany. He began working at UNLV in April 2003 as an Admissions and Enrollment Counselor in the Registrar's office. In November of 2007 he joined the College of Education Advising Staff. He enjoys watching football, fishing, exercising, reading, and playing Texas Hold'em.
|Monica Moreno, Academic Advisor
Monica Moreno is originally from Southern California and relocated to Las Vegas in 2007. She joined the UNLV College of Education in May 2007 where she worked as the Office Manager for the Advising Center until becoming an Academic Advisor, herself, in September 2011. Monica earned her Bachelor's Degree in Human Services from UNLV in August 2011 and serves as the Orientation Coordinator for the College of Education. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and energetic toddler, traveling and shopping.

Lauren Layton joins the COE Advising & Field Placement Center staff after working as an advisor for the College of Engineering.
|Vicky Hoffman, Administrative Assistant III
Vicky was raised in Southern California and grew up in Simi Valley. She eventually relocated to Las Vegas 16 years ago. Vicky came to work for UNLV in 2005 and spent her first year working in Undergraduate Recruitment. She then transferred to the College of Education in 2006. Vicky’s hobbies include camping with her husband and family, and traveling whenever she can. She is also a grandmother to five granddaughters, who she loves spending time with.

Ana Franco joins the COE Advising & Field Placement Center staff after working as an administrative assistant for the Department of Teaching & Learning for three years.
