The Advanced Graduate Certificate in Mental Health Counseling is geared for those individuals who have graduated from CACREP accredited or equivalent master's programs, but do not meet the necessary educational requirements for the Nevada licensure for Clinical Professional Counselors (CPC).

The certificate consists of 12-24 credits, based on the student's previous master's degree training. Students will plan an appropriate course of study for this certificate program with their assigned faculty advisor. The following courses (along with others) may be included in the certificate program where appropriate:

  • CED 738 Introduction to Community Mental Health Counseling (3)
  • CED 766 Psychopathology and Wellness Models in Counseling (3)
  • CED 751 Internship in Counseling (3)
  • CED 775 Advanced Internship in Counseling (3)

Admission deadline is February 1st to begin studies the following Fall semester.
