Professional Development Schools

Mission Statement

In December 2005, a Memorandum of Understanding regarding Professional Development Schools (PDS) was finalized between the Clark County School District (CCSD) and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). Professional Development Schools are places where educators focus on student learning and achievement embedded in three essential functions.

The finalization of the Memorandum of Understanding was the culmination of a year of collaborative planning among all stakeholders. The document provides a foundation for the establishment, mission, responsibilities, and governance of the PDSs. Paradise Professional Development School (PPDS) is one of two schools designated as a PDS in the Memorandum of Understanding.
