Kate Wintrol

Philosophy:

I hope through my classed I can instill a Life-Long love of fitness to my students. I also hope nutrition, flexibility, and strength training throughout their lives; they will understand the importance of Aerobic Exercise. ACE Certification for Group Fitness Instructor.

Instructional expertise:

I am certified by American Council on Exercise (ACE). I have received extensive training in Step Aerobics, Water Aerobics, Kickboxing, Body Sculpting, and traditional Hi/Low Aerobics

Teaching experience:

I began teaching aerobics in 1986, when the only aerobics was High Impact. As new styles and techniques arose, I learned How to teach various types of aerobics. I first taught at a health club in Wichita , Kansas . Since 1986, I have taught at Health Clubs and Educational Institutions including, Yauapi Community College in Prescott , AZ , UNLV, and Las Vegas since 1997. At the present time I teach at UNLV and at the Las Vegas Athletic Club.

UNLV teaching Experience:

Step aerobics, water aerobics, weight training, aerobic conditioning plus History 105/105 Western Civilization.

Marc Gitleman

Philosophy:

Each student takes PE classes for different reasons. We provide a program to meet their needs while teaching a higher level of education. PE classes should give students a way to relieve stress and clear their minds so they can focus on their academic pursuits. For the serious athlete, we provide a program where they can represent UNLV in local and National Competition.

Instructional expertise:

International/National Competitor 1987-2003, certified 5 th Degree Black Belt, Certified National Coach, Certified National Referee, Certified International Instructor, United States Tae Kwon Do Union (USTU), World Tae Kwon Do Fed (WTF).

Teaching experience:

21 years teaching Tae kwon Do.

  • 1983-1987 Instructor at Academy of Self Defense
  • 1987-1992 General Manager, Swiss Training Health Club
  • 1992-1994 Chief Instructor/ Owner United Black Belt Association
  • 1994-current tae Kwon Do, Self defense, Cardio Kickboxing UNLV, and City of Las Vegas . Specialized Workshops, UNLV and City of Las Vegas .

Since 1994 Tae Kwon Do Beg-Intermediate-Adv., self-defense, cardio kickboxing, workshops. Recipient of numerous awards for Martial Arts Community, City of Las Vegas , and UNLV including Teacher of the Year.

Jack Soderberg

Philosophy:

I like to develop the students mentally and physically. Conditioning is the key. Confidence and patience.

Instructional expertise:

Studies martial arts since 1970. Only American exercise and Chinese Kung Fu. School in 1973

Teaching experience:

I've taught since 1975 over 12,00 students. Filipino Martial Arts.

UNLV teaching Experience:

Women's kickboxing, Tai chi, cross training for athletes, and boot camp workout.
