Summit on Nevada Education

Join leaders in education for the second annual Summit on Nevada Education. Together, we will be thought leaders who inform and facilitate policy ideas and research to improve the quality of educational methods and practice in our state and beyond. This Summit will be an open forum to share ideas, challenges and lessons on how to effectively and equitably improve K-12 and higher education, and to collaborate across political and ideological lines.

Here at the UNLV College of Education, we are proud to be expanding existing best practice into next generation practice to best address and overcome the challenges we face in education here in our state. The Summit is designed for educators, administrators, policy makers, community leaders, teacher preparation leaders, pre-service teachers and others with a direct link to education in Nevada.

This year's event welcomes keynote speaker, Artist for the People, Phil Hansen, who crashed through his own boundaries to find that, once he embraced them, his limitations could become his passageway to creativity. We'll also hear what's innovating in education from our expert faculty and community leaders on topics including: English Language Learners, S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Education, Teacher Leadership, Diversity in Education, Early Childhood Education, and more. Get the inside look at future practices and see how they will benefit Nevada's and our nation's students for years to come.
